Behind My Name

I changed my blog's website couple of times.

Now, I have decided to stick with the current one.

It is much more easier for my friends to remember.

Everyone's name has a meaning behind it.

My siblings and I have 2 Christian names.

My parents find it unique as not many Asian people has it.
I also find that my name is unique.

Nobody else has the same name like I do.

Abigail means My Father's Joy.
In the Bible, Abigail was known as Nabal's wife.
After Nabal's death, Abigail became the third wife of David.

Amy means Beloved / Dear.
English form of the Old French name.

Many people had a hard time calling my name.
It happened during my primary school days.
During that time, I'm known as Abi or Amy.
Among my friends, I'm known as Ah Girl.
Most of the time, I'm the youngest in the group.
I introduce myself as Ah B Girl or A Big Girl to the elderly people.
Last but not least, I prefer people calling my Christian name than Chinese name.
